  • Efficient heating and electricity systems

  • Staff training and education in environmental and sustainability practices

  • Recycling programmes - including glass, plastics and paper

  • Green-friendly waste disposal programs, housekeeping practices and laundry options

For conferences and events specifically, the Hobart venue promotes “sustainable meetings” practices. Examples include:

  • use of low-energy LED lighting and efficient building management systems

  • hydro-powered electricity supply (reflecting Tasmania’s renewable energy mix)

  • water-saving fixtures and improved waste-treatment processes

  • elimination of single-use plastics

  • recycling stations for delegates and exhibitors during events
These initiatives are designed to support environmentally responsible conference delivery.
